  • The Signing of the Delceration of Independance

    The signing of the Decleration of Independance was a huge event for the colonists at the time, and is now. The Decleration of Independace was made by the colonist to declare independance from Great Britian and the King. Now the day that the Decleration of Independance was signed is a holiday that America celebrates. This event is important because if it didn't happen then we might not be where we are as americans today.
  • The Signing of the US Constitution

    The Constitution states all of our rights as Americans. Before the constitution were the Articles of Confederation. The Articles of Confedderation were almost a complete failure. So going from the Articles of Confederation to the Constitution was like going from failure to a success. That is why the Consititution is so important. It was a huge success compared to the Articles of Confedration. Everything was equal and worked. The signing of the Constitution is a event to never forget about.

    The Louisiana Purchase was a land of territory bought by Thomas Jefferson. This territory of Land goes from southern states up to northern states. It also expands westward. The Louisiana Purchase was 15 million dollars. By Jefferson making this purchase it has helped expand the Americans knowledge on the new land that they bought. Also it expands America more.

    The California Gold Rush

    The California Gold Rush was a period of time when gold was found in California, and was in high demand. Gold was first found in 1848. When it was discovered the word was out. Then people from all over America came to California in search of gold. Gold was a huge vauleable thing. And back then was easy to find. The California Gold Rush is an important piece of US history because it helped spread more Americans out westward. Also it made California become more popluated.

    The Great Depression

    The Great Depression was a period of time when Americans had a huge struggle of living. The rate of unempoyment was on it's rise.This event was the longest economic downturn in history of the western industrialized world. That is why it is this event is remembered by all Americans. The Great Depression happened a little after the stock market crash in 1929. 13 to 15 million people were unepmloyed, and half of Americas banks had went out of buisness.
  • Atomic Bombing on Hiroshima, Japan

    On This event it as the fist atomic bomb ever used. An american atomic bomb, Enola Gay, was dropped in Hiroshima, Japan. About 80,000 people instantly from the blast. Also another 35,000 were seriously injured. The recent president then decided to use the bomb to end the war, that he thought would be much worse. This event was very important because it was the first atomic bomb used and made.
  • March on Washingtion/ "I Have a Dream" speech

    The March on Washington took place in Washington D.C. Around 250,000 people had attended the march. The March was for freedom and jobs. Famous people came together to say what they felt about freedom and the situations going on at the time. This day is important because it shows that we need to speak our minds if something isn't right. Also it's an example of how we can come together and change the things that need to be changed.

  • Terriorists Attacks on 9/11

    It was a tragic day on September 11, 2001. This event happened in New York. Terrorist came and attacked the Twin towers also known as the World Trade Center. Terrorist came in on an airplane and crashed into these buildings.
