    South Carolina leaves the Union in Dec. 1860, along with 6 other states forming the Confederate States of America in Feb. 1861 they elect Jefferson Davis from Mississippi as their President.

    In 1860 the nation of disagreement begins to divide,with outrages with revolts and begins to express their emotion of being upset. Starting with the revolt led by John brown on Harper's Ferry. Along with the outrages the democratic party splits due to the issue of these outrages.Lincoln is nominated by the republic, Lincoln wins without any electoral votes from the south.

    The North and the South have officially started their war against each other with the North going with the Anaconda Plan to squeeze the life out of the CSA. The north takes the strategy of blocking off the coast for the South , and one issue they wanna stay away from is the Slaves. The South's strategies are pretty simple they are going to play the defensive part and rely on foreign help to get through the war.

    On April 6, 1861 Lincoln sends food and medical supplies to fort Sumter, when Davis of the South becomes aware of this , on April 21st 1861 he sends orders to take Fort Sumter. The confederates completely destroy and take the Fort.

    In the year of 1861 battles with unfold starting with the very first battle of Bull Run in Virginia. The North at this battle had the upper hand at first until the Great General of " Stonewalled" Jackson makes a stand and holds off the union and defeats them.

    April, 1862 the battle of Shiloh begins with Grant and Buell defeat Johnston's CSA nearly 25,000 killed. Moral "blockade" captures New Orleans.

    In the same year of 1862 Lee defeats McClellan in seven days, Richmond defended and fought off by CSA.

    The copperheads peace democrat against Lincoln and the War. Battle of Chancellorsville Joe hooker of the North vs. the South's General Lee. At this battle Lee takes the victory with his surprise attack.

    Three days in Gettysburg in November of 1863 the North and the South battled day and night with the South suffering from severe casualties and from then lack of supplies. At the end of the battle over 50,000 casualties were suffered and it came out a Union victory.

    In that same month of the war President Lincoln made an address at the site of the Gettysburg battlefield. He stated that " Why we fight, dedication to those men". Lincoln made it clear here that it was no ones fault for the things that happen just a act of outrage that went badly for both sides.

    After General Grants acts at Vicksburg and the way he was able to torture the South and get the job done really gave Lincoln no option but to appoint him to command the whole Union.

    In 1863 the Radical Republicans were out to punish the south for the acts of crime against the Union they wanted to punish them in a way that would torture the south of losing the war. They wanted to give black suffrage and to achieve 50% loyalty and they wanted to make sure that the southern states knew no slavery so they established the 13th amendment meaning no slavery at all.

    The battle of Vicksburg or the (starving war) was a crule, and very strategic war. The General Grant traps the CSA in the town of Vicksburg and blocks all ways out , and forces them out by starvation and makes them surrender.

    Lincoln comes up with a plan to start to reconstruct the country. He comes up with the "10% plan" this plan is to get at least 10% of the confederates to pledge loyalty to the Union which is 1 out of every 10.
