    Toleration Act
    • A Maryland Act, a law mandating religious toerence for Triniatarian Christians.
    • This act did not bring compltete religous freedam, it only served as a temporary solution to a huge problem with religoin.
    • It helped to protect Catholics and set a sence of direction for everyone else.
    • the act allowed freedom to whorship but sentenced death to anyone who denied the divinity of Jesus.
  • Salem Witch Trials

    Salem Witch Trials
    • A group of young girls claimed to be possed by the devil, than went along to accuse several women of witchcraft.
    • A special court came to Salem to hear the cases.
    • Most of them were found guilty and before a year was even over they were dead. -Sometimes public hangings would occur, and people would gather all around. -The withc trials started a wave of hysteria that spread all throughout Massachusetts, bitterness still lingers in the community betwen familys.

    - Things got easier like the steam engine helped people in tremendus ways.
    - Peoples lives got easier
    -Increased volume and variety of manufactured goods and improved peoples standard of living.

    • The Act was imposed on Americans and made them pay tax dollars on every printed piece of paper they used.
    • Ship papers, legal documents, licences, newspapers, and even playing cards were texed.
    • The money colleced was used tpo help protect the American frontier.

    • The Sons of Liberty when dumping the tea disguised themsleves as Indians so they wouldnt be reconized.
    • One factor that caused this rebellion was " Taxation without Representation".
    • 3 ships were involved.
    • Hundreds of people participated in the Boston Tea Party

    • The discovery of gold nuggets in Sacromento Valley led to the gold rush. -One of the most signifigant events to shape the us in the 19th century.
    • When news spread of the discovery miners from all over traveled by land and sea to California.
    • A total of $2 billion worth of precious metal was extracted from the area during the Gold Rush.
  • Lincoln's Assination

    Lincoln's Assination
    • Was 2 days after Lee's surrender at the Appomatix.
    • John Wilkes Booth, who was in the audience was the man who shot him.
    • Booth had already failed at his two earlier attempts to kidnap the president, which is how he decided he should be killed.
    • Lincoln was shoot in the head, te bullet intered behind his ear went through his brain and lodged in his eye.

    Shermans March
    • Union General William T. Sherman led 60,000 soldiers on a 285 mile march from Atlanta to Savannah, Georiga.
    • Its purpose was to frighten Georigas civilian population into abandoning Confederate cause.
    • They didnt destroy eveything in their path only things that stood in their way or tried to fight back.
    • Was a Total War
