    Land Bridge

    Land Bridge
    During the Ice Ages, Nomadas traveld over to North America over the ocean. The ocean froze, and when this happened, the Nomades traveled across the ice. If the Land Bridge wasn't created, humans would not have arrived in North America until the 1600s.
  • Revoluntionary War

    Revoluntionary War
    When the King of England was controlling Americans over in North America, he was being completely unfair. He had extremely high taxes. The King also forced unreasonable laws. The Americans decided to fight back. The war was a cruel blood bath. The Patriot's fought hard, and pulled away with the victory. The Americans were free and started their own country. This was extremely important because if they didn't win, we wouldn't have a country today.
  • Declaration of Independence Signing

    After the Revolutionary War, 56 men got together and signed the Declaration of Independence. It was a document that explained the rights and laws of the American citizens. This is important because it is still used in courts and by lawmakers around the country today. It is also important because it lists the reasons that we fought the Revolutionary War, and why we became a nation.
  • The Battle of the Alamo

    The Battle of the Alamo
    In the time right before the Alamo, Mexico was trying to conquer all states that it bordered. Texans were fighting for their freedom and had set up an Army base at the Alamo, an old mission building. Days after they set up this base, the Mexicans, led by Santa Anna, invaded the Alamo, surrounding it completely. The battle lasted 14 days, and we lost. Shortly after the battle, General Houston arrived and defeated the Mexicans. Without these battles, Texas would not be part of the United States.
  • Civil War

    Civil War
    During the 1800's, slavery was heavily relied on in the Southern states. The Northern states, however, were strongly opposed to it. Eventually, war was started between the North and South, mainly in an effort by the North to stop slavery, and an effort by the South to become an independent country. After four years of war, the North won, the South stayed a part of the United States and the the slaves were eventually freed.
