Lewis and Clark left for a reason, to exploe the west. They left from St Louis Missouri and stoped in Lolo Pass Montana. When they reached Lolo Pass they were almost out of food.

The California Gold Rush took place between 1848 and 1855. The Gold rush was around for 7 years. Over 300,000 people wanted to be apart of the Gold Rush so they could be rich.

1860 - Pony Express
The Pony Express was a way people got mail. It was between St Joseph, Missouri and Sacramento California. In 1857 there were about 157 Pony Express stations. -
Construction began in 1817 and was finished in 1825. The canal is 363 miles long and 40 feet wide. In 1825 the Canal was complete.
