  • Armenian Massacre

    Armenian Massacre
    Known as the Great Crime, 1.5 Million women, children and men were brutaly murdered by the Ottoman Government.This was the Ottomans systematic extermination of their Aremenian minority. This was seen as a genocide to many historians and countries. This massacre took plsce in present day Turkey. Thr Assyrians and Greeks were also targeted by the Ottoman empire and considered a part of the same genocidal policy.

    Rape of Nanjing
    This event was a mass murder and war rape occured during the six week period after the Japenese captured the city of Nanjing. During these six weeks, Japenese soldiers completely destroyed the Chinese army and civilians. By the end of the "Rape" anywhere from 250,000 to 300,000 Chinese people were kiilled. This event is classified as a genocide because the Japenese took over this city and completly made it their own.

    The "Great Purge" was a series of reppressive measures in the Soviet Union. The Great Purge was motivated by the desire to remove dissenters from the Communist Party. Most Victims of the purge was Old Bolsheviks. Reasons for the perge was that Stalin feared "social disorder" by upheals of forced collectivization of pesants and famine.

    This event was a genocide that took place during WW2 in Europe. The Germans murdered approximately six millions jews. About two thirds of Jewish population was killed during this couple year long genocide. Concentration camps were a main source of killings jews and it was efficient for the Germans. This all happened because they hated the Jews and Hitler wanted to live in a perfect world and Jews did not fit his definiton of perfect race.

    This event lasted about a half of a century and it was a system of racial segregation enforced by the National Party governments. This event only effected African Americans because they were not treated as equals at all. This all happened because everyone thought African Americans should not be treated as equal. This event is labeled as discrimination through the human rights violations.

    My Lai Massacre
    This event was the Vietnam war mass murder of anywhere from 350 to 500 unarmed civilians in South Vietnam. This massacre took place in the hamlets of My Lai and My Khe of son my villiage. This crazy event is labeled as a massacre of these women who were raped then later killed. Most victims in this incident were children and older women.

    When Idi Amin overhtrew Prime Minister Obote and became president he established a Militarized Goverment. Amin began to Purge the military of any Obote supporters most Acholi and Lango ehtnic groups. An estimated 300,000 people in both ethnic groups had been massacred by the end of his 8 year reign. His rule was seen as Ethnic Persacution, Political Repression, Corruption and many moreHuman Right Voilations

    On August 22, 1973 the chamber of deputires of Chile passed of a vote of 81 to 47 it called for president Allende to respect the constitution. A week before the coup protests had started happening and many women started to get very angry and decide to stand up against.

    This event took place in Cambodia. Pol Pot led the communist forces of Khmer Rouge into the capital city of Cambodia. About 1 million people were killed in the massacre, about 1/7 of their population. Most people died from starvation or misdiagnosed illness.

    This civil war is an ongoing war in Somolia, that has lasted a couple days over 22 years. Over 22 years, a little over 1 million people have been killed in warfare. Fighting among rival faction leaders resulted in the killing, dislocation, and starvation of thousands of Somalis and led the United Nations to intervene militarily in 1992.

    Genocide in Bosnia and Herzegovnia
    The events in the Genocide in 1995 included the killing of more than 8,000 Bosnian Muslim men and boys. It was committed by Bosnain Serb forces. It was also know as the Ethnic Cleansing Campaign. The ethnic cleansing campaign included murder, rape, sexual assault, torture, robbery and inhumane treatment of civilians.The genocide mainly took place throughout areas controlled by the Army of the Republika Srpska.

    This event was a genocide and also a mass slaughter. This took place in the east African state of Rwanda. Over 500,000 thousand people were killed in this genocide. The assasination of Habyarimana in 1993 set off this violent conflict. This event only lasted 100 days.

    Seirra Leone and the child soldiers
    The civil war in Seirra Leone was between the RUF(Revoulutionary United Front) and the Joseph Momoth Goverment. The RUF thought the goverment was corrupt and took advantage of the daimond mines. The RUF was extremely brutual against civlilians. They raided small villages and forced the youth to join them. After joining many child soldiers learned that voilence led to self power and contuined to support the rebels. The RUF commited Systematic Targeting of Civilians, Massacres, and many more.
  • Darfur Conflict

    Darfur Conflict
    This event was a guerrilla war on the Darfur region of Sudan. This war began by the Sudan Army and the Justice and Equality Movement groups in Darfur took arms, accusing the Sudan Government of opressing non-Arab Sudanese in favor of Sudanese Arabs. This event goes down as a massacre in the human rights violations. This war was pretty short lasting only about a year.
