British government restricted the Americans from going West of Appalachian mountains.

Sugar Act

Colonist began being taxed for buying sugar. Colonist were only able to buy sugar from the French and West Indians to stop smuggling trades.

Stamp Act

Oct 7, 1765

Colonist had to pay taxes on paper, stamps, playing cards, news papers. This was to help pay for British troops.

*Boston Massacre

Mar 5, 1770

5 patriot Colonist were killed by British solders. This sparked the colonists desire for American Independence.

Tea Act

Apr 27, 1773

Colonist were being taxed for the Tea they buy.

Boston Tea Party

Dec 16, 1773

Protest against Tea act, The sons of Liberty dumped over 300+ chest full of tea into Boston harbor. This made the King angry.

Intolerable Acts
