  • French & Indian war.

    French & Indian war.
    The French & Indian War, also known as the Seven Years Of War, was a war between the French and Britain to see who would have more control of North America. The war later ended with the Treaty of Paris. This war also left Britain heavily in debt.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    The colonies were not allowed to go west of the Appalachian mountains, the colonies were mad because they weren't allowed to expand or travel west at all, but they were promised they would be able to go anywhere in America.
  • Sugar act

    Sugar act
    This was the first tax act enacted on the colonies. The colonies were taxed on anything that contained sugar. Eventually, they boycotted Briain goods leading to the repealing of the sugar act.
  • Stamp act

    Stamp act
    Parliament taxed the colonist on stuff like newspapers and legal documents, the colonist boycotted and protests, later leading to the repealing of the stamp act. The colonist thought it was a violation of their rights, their protest was known as "no taxation without representation" was stated.
  • Boston massacre

    Boston massacre
    Britain soldiers opened fire on colonists after being attacked by drunk colonists outside of a bar, killing 5 of them, the colonist used this as a way to make the British soldiers look evil, even though the colonist were the ones that started this event.
  • Tea act

    Tea act
    Parliament taxed the colonist on tea, and tea being the main thing colonists drank, made the colonist very mad, eventually, the colonist protested with the event known as The Boston Tea Party, and the intolerable acts.

    The Boston Tea Party
    The Boston Tea Party was a protest against the tea act, the sons of liberty dressed as Indians and borded Britain ships containing tea, and dumped thousands of dollars worth of tea into the Boston harbor making Britain mad.
  • The intolerable act

    The intolerable act
    The intolerable act was enacted as the punishment for the Boston Tea Party. The Intolerable act made the colonists house Britain troops, they closed down the Boston harbor, etc. The intolerable act was one of the last events to have happened before the start of the American Revolution.
