    Trojan War Part 2

    Trojan War Part 2
In conclusion, Odysseus was a helping hand in the Trojan War, becoming a main asset because of his intelligence. That is what he is mainly known for. He uses his knowledge for the better, because there aren’t people that use their brain accordingly like Odysseus does. He is a strategic thinker that plans ahead of time.

    Lotus Eaters Part 2

    Lotus Eaters Part 2
In conclusion, this was a point in his adventure to find an island, possibly being a rest spot for him and his crew mates, but it was the complete opposite. His crew were in a trance to never leave the island, which caused trouble for everyone. Odysseus had to use force in order to put them into the boats to move away from the island.

Aeolus - Bag Of Wind Part 2

Aeolus - Bag Of Wind Part 2
Aeolus, confused, thinks the gods have cursed them all, refusing to help them any more. They then travel without any wind. In analysis, After just getting away from the giant cyclops, they have to deal with the lack of wind caused by the crew tearing open the bag. All of this, unfortunately would have never happened if the bag of winds was not ripped apart. It seems that Odysseus is the only one among the crew who uses common sense in dire situations.

    Circe

    Circe
Odysseus and the rest of his crew members travel to Aeaea, home of the beautiful goddess Circe. Just before, though, they were bombarded with boulders by the Laestrygonians, who are angry giants. When they get to the island of Aeaea, Circe drugs Odysseus’ men and turns them into pigs. Odysseus eats a herb called moly to become unaffected by this drug, making him overpoweringly force her to turn them back into humans. She does so, and everything becomes normal.

    Sirens

    Sirens
After Odysseus and his crew leave Aeaea, they set sail to their next destination. Circe warns Odysseus about the upcoming threats they will face, like the sirens, who are dangerous creatures who roam the open seas that lure sailors into destruction. They are meant to cause danger, and are known to be an issue for sailors trying to travel, like exactly what Odysseus is doing. Circe told them to plug their ears with cotten material to avoid hearing the obscure sounds and music made by the sirens.

    Sirens Part 3

    Sirens Part 3
They are evil, therefore cannot be trusted. Odysseus learned about the ways of the sirens, and will now know what they are about. This is good because now his intelligence on the dangers of the sea has grown, and has expanded. Now, Odysseus and his fellow crew will know the dangers of the sirens when situations like this come across once again.

    Suitors / Home Part 2

    Suitors / Home Part 2
In analysis, this is a good ending to the story because it teaches the readers about infedilty and what it means. This was the first time they had made contact in twenty years, and it can be interpreted in many ways.

    Lotus Eaters

    Lotus Eaters
This was a point in Odysseus’ journey where he had brought a large crew along with him by several boats. They had arrived to an island after losing members by a storm sent by Zeus becoming a major impact on their journey for nine days. This island has intoxicating fruits that makes you want to stay on the island forever, and you instantly become hostile if told otherwise against the island. Odysseus’ crew lose all memories of their actual homes.

    Cyclops

    Cyclops
Right after the incident of Odysseus’ journey with the lotus eaters, they visit an island with several cyclops, known as the Land of Cyclops. They face trouble against them, causing conflict between Polyphemus and Odysseus primarily. The cyclops live in uncivil ways. So, they’re not accustom to rules. The cyclops want to eat some of Odysseus’ men, which will not happen if Odysseus has something to say about it.

    Aeolus - Bag Of Wind

    Aeolus - Bag Of Wind
Odysseus and his shipmates sale to Aeolus’ island, ruler and king of the wind. They had just left the island of the Cyclops. Aeolus gifts Odysseus a large bag full of horrible weather, so they will not be disturbed during their travels. He is welcoming towards the group, along with Odysseus. Within ten days of their travels to Itchaca, a few of Odysseus’ crew open the bag, foolishly thinking there was gold and silver inside. The wind then blows them back to Aeolus’ island.

Aeolus - Bag Of Wind Part 3

Aeolus - Bag Of Wind Part 3
He plans accordingly, instead of not thinking ahead and causing trouble for the future. Odysseus is obviously the leader of the group, using logic to solve answers and problems. But, he still has to deal with his own shipmates and their problems, which affects him.

    Circe Part 2

    Circe Part 2
Odysseus and his shipmates stay with Circe on her island for about a year. Circe and Odysseus also gain a special relationship. After the year has gone by, the crew finally convinces Odysseus to leave. He asks Circe guidance toward their next journey. My analysis is that Circe was once an evil person who obviously could not trust Odysseus, solely because she turned his men into pigs. But, after they got used to one another, they become comfortable.

    Scylla And Charybdis

    Scylla And Charybdis
Once Odysseus and his crew leave the island of the Sirens, they approach Scylla and Chrarybdis. Scylla is a six-headed monster who is very huge and dangerous. She eats the bodies of sailors who come near her for each head. She is ruthless and very powerful. Chrarybdis is a giant whirlpool who threatens to swallow ships who come near it. Circe tells Odysseus to hold the course tight to Scylla’s lair. But, Scylla ends up eating six of Odysseus’s crew for each of her heads.

    Scylla And Charybdis

    Scylla And Charybdis
In analysis, this also brought Odysseus’s mind to explore new things in the world of greek mythology. These monsters and traps are something that Odysseus and his companions have never been apart of, so having experienced these things are a great way to open up the mind of intelligence. Odysseus has learned more about these creatures during his journey. He’s learned their qualities, the theme between them, and their character. This helps influence the mind in the future.

    Helios’ Cattle

    Helios’ Cattle
When Odysseus and his men reach the island of the sun god, they are struck by a massive storm. Odysseus never wanted part of the island at first, but Eurylochus convinces him
to explore the island. They also needed to take a rest because of the restless journey they went through. The storm keeps the crew, along with Odysseus, stuck. Things start turning left when there is nothing is there to survive, so Eurylochus persuades the crew to disobey Odysseus and slaughter the cattle of the sun.

    Helios’ Cattle Part 2

    Helios’ Cattle Part 2
When the sun finds out, he asks Zeus to punish Odysseus and his men. He punishes them by hitting the ship with a lightning bolt, killing all of Odysseus’ crew. Fortunately, Odysseus is the only survivor. In analysis, this introduces new people like Zeus and Helios, and the roles they play in Greek Mythology. This also shows the type of punishments brought against the fellow humans if they cross the gods.
  • 1200 BCE

    Helios’ Cattle Part 3

    Helios’ Cattle Part 3
This also shows that Odysseus’ crew was unreliable and disobedient against Odysseus. They are unloyal and only care about themselves.

    Suitors / Home

    Suitors / Home
It had been twenty years since Odysseus and Penelope had last seen each other. Penelope had gained hope that he would come back, even though others presumed him to be dead. Then, Penelope had a test to see who could arch Odysseus’ bow, to see who would marry her. Odysseus had pretended to be a suitor to finally reunite with his wife after twenty years. She did not recognize him at first, but he knew about the special bed that only he could move. That was when she knew it really was him.

    Trojan War

    Trojan War
The Trojan War was a brutal war between the city of Troy and the Archaeans. It is one of the most important moments in Greek mythology. Odysseus was one of the heroes during the war. He was a main role in Homer’s Iliad, which helped win the war against the Trojans. This helped Odysseus gain more knowledge of the Trojans, making him intelligent. In conclusion, Odysseus was a helping hand in the Trojan War, becoming a main asset because of his intelligence. That is what he is mainly known for.

    Cyclops Part 2

    Cyclops Part 2
Odysseus makes up a plan to escape the island by stabbing Polyphemus to hide in sheep. He tricks him by saying that his name is “Nobhdy” making him say that nobody attacked him so the other cyclops would not do anything. In conclusion, this was a risky journey between the cyclops and Odysseus. He used his intelligence to trick the giants, and saved his crew, including himself. He escaped with everyone and taught the giants a lesson when they tried to mess with them.

    Sirens Part 2

    Sirens Part 2
Him and his men approach the island of the sirens, and as instructed, plugs their ears with beeswax to block out the noise of the sirens. Their song is so moving to Odysseus, he then wants to take the beeswax out of his ears, but his crew saves him from the compelling music, and hold him down until they finally leave the island. In analysis, this was one of the hardest points in their journey. The sirens are very tough creatures who will stop at nothing to get sailors to crash their ships.
