Clayton Jacobsen invented the Jet Ski because, he lamented that there had to be a way to enjoy the euphoria and excitement of a motorcycle without the inherent danger of falling on hard ground at high speeds.
One night Jacobson drew his "motorcycle for water"; which, at the time, looked like some sort of motorized water ski.
