    On July 4th 1776, America declared its independence from Britian.Many of our country's great leaders join eachother to sign. This is important to Americans because if we didn't do this we would still be a part of Britian.

    Abraham Lincoln became the U.S president on March 4th, 1861. As president he made very important decisions about slavery and also was the president through the civil war. He is an important figure in history because he strongly hated slavery and helped Americans end it.

    On April 15th, 1865 Abraham Lincoln was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth while watching a play at Fords theater. John Wilkes Booth also had people help him. John Wilkes booth was killed on April 26th 1865 at the Garrett farmhouse. This is Important to Americans because he was a very important to Americans because we lost a great leader and he was a lead figure in abolishing slavery

    Pearl Harbor is one of the worst attacks that Americans have ever experienced. It was a suprise attack by the Japanese that left many Americans in shock. Pearl Harbor is important to Americans because not only did it catch us off guard but the day after we declared war on Japan.

    John F. Kennedy was assasinated by Lee Harvey Oswald in 1963 in Dallas,TX. JFK was killed while riding in his limo through Dallas. He was shot twice and was confirmed dead at Arlinton Memorial hospital. This is important because the leader of our country was killed and he played a important role in the Veitnam war.

    While in Memphis, Tennesse MLK was killed by a shot that damaged his spinal cord and was pronounced dead at St. Joseph's hospital. His killer was assasinated by James Earl Ray was arrested later that night at Heyhrow airport in london. This is important to Americans becausewe lost one of the mane leaders of the civil rights movement.

    In 1969 Neil Armstrong was the first person to walk on the moon. He had two others help him get to the moon their names were Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins. They flew to the moon in a rocket colled Apollo 11. This is important to Americans because it proved that Americans had the technology to explore space and that Americans were leaders in technology.

    On September 11th, 2001 19 terrorist hijacked planes and ran them into the Twin towers, the Pentagon and a field in Pennsylvania.these terrorist were part of a group called Al- Qauda. This is important because the they killed many Americans in the process and hurt our spirits. 2 years later we invaded Afganistan to go to war against Al- Quada.

    Osama Bin Laden was assasinated by U.S Naval Specail Warfare in 2011 at a compound in Pakistan. This is an important event in U.S history because we took out the man who started 9-11 and a man who was one of the most wanted terrorist throughout the world.
