    This is important to the US history because now African Americans have equal rights as white people. Back then, African American people didn't have as much freedom and white people, like they couldn't go to school, public bathrooms, or they would have separate places for them , away from the white people. Now they have freedom and same rights as everyone else.

This event chnaged the way we have security. At airports especially, security became much more thighter and now we have to take our shoes off and everything. It is more safe now than back then.
