    Crusing along furniture. Can crawl forward and backward at different speeds. May climb up stairs on hands and knees. May climb out of cribbs, strollers, or high chair.

    Likes to look at picture books and pats recognized pictures. Shows interest by by rubbing new textures and surfaces. Can find toy that has rolled out of sight. Begins to form concepts.
  • 16-18 months: Physical

    Tries to kick ball but misses. Pushes and pulls toys around the floor. Jumps with both feet. Walks fast and runs stiftly. Stands on either foot with support. May be able to walk sideways.

    Imitate the way parents se objects. Can indentify simple pictures in books. Has short attention span. Remember where objects begin. Enjoys working with shapes on a board.
  • 19-21 months: Physical

    Walks up and down the stairs with help. Loves to run, jump, and climb. Squats easily in play. Responds to music by dancing.

    Is intrested in tiny things such as bugs. Looks at cooks for a longer period of time. Likes to make marks on paper with crayons. Learns to distinguish sounds and smells.
  • 22-24 months: Physical

    Can throw a all overhead instead of tossing. Can throw ball into basket. Can sit and stand easily. Lack of ability to stop easily when running.

    Becomes intrested in precise placement of objects like simple puzzles. Follows simple directions. May be able to recall what is lost and where it might be. Is curious about objects in the environment.
  • 24-30 months: Physical

    Climbs on playgorund easily and comfortably. Opens doors by turning knob. Can removie wrapping from gum and candy. Likes to take lids off of jars and put them back on.
  • 24-30 months: Cognitive

    Becomes more intrested in tv shows. Likes to listen to songs and recordings. Can use objects in make believe games. Recognizes familiar sings in the environment.
  • 30-36 months: Physical

    Sits in adult chairs and likes to more than sitting in "baby" chairs. Scribbles and draws circles. Makes mud pies and sadn castles. Eats with a fork.
  • 30-36 months: Cognitive

    Can recognize themselves in a picture. Tries out various roles in a make believe game. Can remember 3-step commands. Starts using past tense and plural.
