    In 1958 the USA government created the Advanced Research Projects Agency. This agency was created to help jump-start new efforts in science and technology. The USA was very competitive with Russia at the time which is why we wanted to be more advanced with technology. After this agency was created, it soon helped the growth of the Internet.
