The Proclamation Of 1763
The proclamation line prohibited colonists from settling west of the Appalachian mountains so they wouldn't fight with native Americans. The colonists felt that they help win that land from the french so they rebelled. In result, the king sent more soldiers to patrol the colonists. -
Sugar Act
During the sugar act, the British lowered the sugar tax from six to three which made the colonists angry because the British government made the punishment worse if you were caught smuggling. -
Stamp Act
The stamp act was Britten's way of forcing the colonists to help pay for the war. This made the colonists angry because it violated their rights as British citizens. -
Quartering Act
During the Quartering Act, British soldiers stayed in the colonies to enforced stricter laws and because they needed a place to stay. The colonists were required to provide food and shelter which made the colonists feel this was a fringe upon their rights. -
Stamp Act Congress
The Stamp Act Congress occurred over a period of time, October 7 to the 25 of 1765. The law affected the most important colonists. Merchants organized boycotts, and groups appeared all over to enforce the boycotts. The British were angry with the colonists attitudes. -
Townshend Act
The colonists boycotted British goods such as glass, lead, paint, paper and tea saying "no tax without representation". -
Boston Massacre
British soldiers opened fire on a group of colonists throwing rocks killing many. This made the colonists feel that Britten was no longer on their side -
Committees Of Correspondence
During the Committees Of Correspondence, the Boston selectmen elected a twenty-one committee of correspondence that would organize the colonial opposition against British policy. They also made a political union among the thirteen colonies. -
Tea Act
The tea act occurred when the British reduced taxes on goods like tea. This put colonial tea merchants out of business. They in-forced punishment for smuggling which angered the colonists because they were forced to buy tea from Britten.The colonists also felt that they were being taxed unfairly. -
Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea Party was a protest against the British parliaments tea act. The Colonists protested by dressing up as native Americans and dumping 342 chests of tea into the ocean. -
Intolerable/Coercive Act
The Coercive Act consisted of four laws, The Boston Port Act, The Massachusetts Government Act, The Administrative Of Justice Act, and The Quartering Act. The British parliament passed these Acts to punish the colonists for the Boston Tea Party. In result, the colonists unified and created the 1st continental congress. -

During the First Continental Congress, the colonists met to plan a reaction against British's restraints on them after the Boston Tea Party -
The Battle Of Lexington Concord
During the Battle Of Lexington Concord, the colonists confronted the British and marched behind them all the way to Boston holding them at gunpoint the whole way there. -
Second Continental Congress
During the Second Continental Congress, the colonists met to form the normal functions of a government such as ambassadors, and paper currency. They raised armies, made strategies and wrote pensions.
