    Thomas Jefferson bought land called the Louisiana Purchase from Spain. This land doubled the size of the United States. Lewis and Clark were sent by Thomas Jefferson to explore it and make observations of the land.

    James Madison signed a declaration of war against Great Britain in 1812. During his presidency the National Bank closes because it's charter was not extended. One of his accomplishments was that he made Indiana a state.

    James Madison signed a declaration of war against Great Britain in 1812. He did this because the British put restrictions on U.S trade. He also did this because of the United States desire to expand its territory.

    James Monroe gave a speech called the Monroe Doctrine to congress.One of his accomplishments was that he made Missouri and Maine both states. James Monroe also signed the Tariff of 1824 into law.

    The Monroe Doctrine was a speech given by James Monroe to congress stating that told Europe not to interfere with the western hemisphere. It also said that the U.S would not interfere with European colonies in the western hemisphere. It also said that the U.S would not get into any European affairs.

    In John Quincy Adams presidency the Erie Canal was fully completed from start to finish.One of his accomplishments was that the military training manual. In John Quincy Adams presidency both Thomas Jefferson and John Adams died on the same day July 4th, 1826.

    Andrew Jackson passed the Indian Removal Act in 1830. This led to many indians dying and the path they took is called the Trail of Tears. One of Andrew Jackson's accomplishment was he issued the Nullification Proclamation that stopped any state from nullifying federal laws.

    In 1830 Andrew Jackson passed the Indian Removal Act which made Indian tribes move to different parts of the country. One Indian tribe sued the federal government and the Supreme Court actually ruled the act to be unconstitutional but Jackson did it anyway. The Indian tribes traveled what is now known as the Trail of Tears.

    The Nullification Proclamation was issued by Andrew Jackson to stop any state from nullifying any federal law passed by the government. This was issued because people in South Carolina were nullifying the Tariff of 1828 before Jackson took office. The Nullification Proclamation did not make people in South Carolina and in the South very happy.
