The culture here in Amercia are more freely about their relationships and religion also government is more open to the poeple's thoughts and ideas. SInce China was a Communtist country , they didn't have much freedom at all so when they got here it was shocking to here how they people here live.

    Lots of people in China cried for freedom and democracy. There was pollution everywhere you went. It was over crowding and there wasn't lots of places for them to sleep. Feng had a hard time finding a job to provide for her family, but china has disregarded female rights.

    The United States had lots of opportunties for jobs and education. They had great health care for people who were sick. The wages where high enough to support their family. They both wanted to go to school and get an degree. Also they just wanted to learn about different cultures and traditions.

    They had a family member in the Untied States already who was sending them money to come to the United Stetes. They had to buy fake papers to use as they traveled so they wouldn't get caught, because China was a communist country. They first went to Thailand then to Canada. Once they got to Canada, they took a bus across the border to Minnesota.

    It Took them 14 Hours to get from China to Minnesota. They Still had to hind the fact that they were in america , so they just stayed with their cousin, until they got legal.

    Their kid Johnanthan is older now, he is 17. They both went to college to get a degree. Feng is a dentist and Jian is a preschool teacher, both good paying jobs. They like how Minnesota is so diverse and how the traditions play a big role in the communities lives.
