In 2009, three Gunn Students had committed suicide by standing in front of a train. This is important because now every day the train passes the school, all the kids get a sad memorization of the time all three of those kids took their life. It almost symbolizing a death tragedy -
Homecoming
Cameron Lee took his own life during Gunn High School's Homecoming this is important because no body understood why he did it, he seemed to be a happy kid. Many kids were effected by this. -
Respect
The night after Cameron's death, some kids chalked up the school with messages along the lines of "we love you Cameron" this is important because it shows how much these kids mean to each other. it shows that Cameron had friends, which makes it harder to comprehend a reason for why he did it. -
Is it the Parents fault?
Martha Cobat uploaded a video on YouTube stating that teachers and parents put too much stress on their kids, and said that was why all these other kids keep ending their life. This is a very important factor because not only did this video go viral but it informed society what they were doing to these children. Maybe now they can put an end to this. -
Girl on the Overpass
3 weeks after Lee's death, a teenage girl from a nearby private school jumped off the overpass. This is relevant because once again, authorities can't figure out why all these kids are killing themselves. Nonetheless the fact that the deaths are so close together in time.
