  • The Royal Proclamation of 1763

    The Royal Proclamation of 1763

    Prevented the colonist moving west. The colonist felt their rights moving western territory violate. They had fought for the land and yet couldn't live in it but they disobeyed later on.
  • Sugar act of 1764

    Sugar act of 1764

    This act taxed wins, silks, coffee, and a bunch of luxury items. The colonist started to protest famous slogan "No Taxation without Representation"
  • Currency Act

    Currency Act

    Later in 1764 the currency act was passed. This act outlawed the printing money in colonial legislatures. The colonies were a deficit trade area and constantly short of hard currency which made this act a burden to the colonist economy.

    Colonist had to provide British royal troops with provisions and barracks. Colonist had a invasion of property.
  • Stamp Act

    This act taxed a lot of items that would be for defending, protecting, and securing the colonies. This made merchant to organize resistance and commercial restrictions in a way to protest British policies.
  • Declaratory Act

    Declaratory Act

    Yielded, repealed the Stamp Act and revised the Sugar Act. This made Parliament to make laws binding the colonies.
  • Townshend act

    Townshend act

    Tax on lead, paper, glass, paint, and tea. Made the colonist upset but they found a way to dodge these taxes.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre

    British guards shoot protestors' in a way of self defense after having snowballs thrown at them. Three died and later used as propaganda. Parliament repealed the Townshend Act except on tea.

    An act of protest by the Sons of Liberty, who threw a bunch of British tea into the Boston harbor.

    A set of four laws passed down as a consequence of the Boston Tea party. The colonist were paying for their actions which made it worse for them .
  • Quartering Act 1774

    Act that allowed British troops to be housed by the colonist. Colonist did not feel safe and had their privacy invaded.
  • Quebec Act

    Quebec Act

    Preserved French Civil Code, along with French traditions such as the practice of Catholicism which went against the British law. Trials with no jury, not representative assembly. Colonies were upset. Keep French tradition. It affected the colonist because they were predestine and saw the French supporting catholic and didnt like it.
