  • French and indian war begin

    The war started by the british wanting the french land in North America but soon spreaded toward the Native lands. I think this was an important event because, it showed who started taking over lands so early in the worlds history.
  • discovery of Australia

    In 1770, Captain Cook landed in Botany bay and discovered the south east coast of Australia. On 22 August 1770, he claimed the whole of the east coast of Australia at Possession Island, naming eastern Australia New South Wales.
  • French Revolution

    the french revolution started in 1774, there was a lot of war in this revolution and lots of people got their heads cut off. this revolution had a great impact on the modern world today.
  • American Revolution

    The American Revolution was a very political important event, because this was when the 13 colonies decided to break away from the British Empire, and gain their independence.
  • Declaration of Independence

    In 1776 the Declaration of independence was written. This is an important part of american history due to the fact that it means all men are created equal and encourages everyone to live together as a community.
  • The first Fleet

    The First Fleet of 11 ships, left Portsmouth in 1787 with more than 1480 men, women and children onboard. Although most were British, there were also African, American and French convicts. After three months the First Fleet arrived at Botany Bay on 24th January 1788. The Aboriginal people, who had lived in isolation for 40,000 years, met the British in an uneasy stand off at what is now known as Frenchmans Beach at La Perouse.

    the industrial revolution was a time of change for many people, it changed the way we make textiles, transport people, move around, and also where people lived. the industrial revolution was important and new technology influenced by it is still being made today.
  • American civil war

    The civil war was fought over the right to be free from the Union, and have the right of slavery. It was won by the North over the South, they soon re joined as one as the two sides agreed on a slavery-free country. Even though slavery was banned, problems still grew into the 1900's of racism. Racism is still a major problem today.
  • Wright brothers first flight

    The wright brothers were the first inventors to build a man controlled aircraft. They were the first to build a powered aircraft and successfully fly it. there were many other experimental aircrafts built before them but none of them were a success.
  • The titanic sinks

    The titanic sank in 1912 on her maiden voyage, due to the ship hitting an iceberg. it departed on the 16th of august in 1912. the titanic now sits in the bottom of the north atlantic ocean.
