The Great Awakening impacted the American dream by changing people's views on religion and by causing many people to become religious.

    The Boston Tea Party was Colonists in Boston protesting the tea act by raiding Boston ships and dumping 342 containers of tea into the harbor. This event had a lot to do with Americans gaining their freedom, American would not be as it is today without those colonists.

    The American Revolution went from 1775 to 1783 and its purpose was for the Americans to gain independence from the British empire. The war was brutal and horrible but without it America would never have been formed and there would never be the freedom there is today.

    The Declaration of Independence is possibly the most important thing to happen in US history. This Declaration is what makes American America, it gives us all of our rights and freedoms. The Declaration of Independence shaped America and is still shaping America to this day and will be for many days to come.

    The French revolution was a time in France where the government was overthrown and the people took charge, it was chaos. The revolution was like a learning experience for France, they eventually got things back under control and were able to form the somewhat stable government they have now.

    The War of 1812 was caused by British restrictions on U.S. trade and the U.S. wanting to expand their territory. This war might not be as important as the revolutionary war and civil war and many people might have forgotten it but it still had a great impact on the world today. The main result of this war was centuries of peace with the British Empire.

    The Slavery Abolition Act is the act that abolished slavery in the British Empire. This act freed around 800,000 slaves in the British empire. This act had a huge impact not only on the British empire but also in America because it would set America on its course to free slaves.

    The Civil War lasted from 1861 to 1865. It had to do with the north and the south wanting to split away from each other and disputes about the freedom of slaves. It ended up with the south losing and slaves being freed. This event changed America forever and was the first of many movements to give African Americans equal rights.
  • The Assassination of Abraham Lincoln

    The Assassination of Abraham Lincoln
    Abraham Lincon died on April 15, 1865, by the hands of John Wilkes Booth at the Fords Theather. Only a few days after the Civil War had ended President Lincon went to Fords Theater to see a play with his wife when he is shot in the back of the head by booth who did so to avenge the south. This left the entire nation in shock, both north, and south adored the president and had a deep hatred for Booth. This day with forever be remembered and Lincon will never be forgotten.
