    Thomas Newcomen was the first to invent it in 1705, and James Watt "perfected" it later on in 1765. This was a very important invention because it powered all early locomotives and began the upgrades we now have today.

    The French Revolution was caused by writings of that time. Those writings told the people to take power themselves and not trust authority. They watched the Americans as an example. This is important because this freed France from the Royal power.

    The Haitian Revolution Lasted from 1791 to 1804. The Haitian Revolution is still thought of as a defining moment in the history of Africans in the New World. That is because of teh many slave revolts that occured this is one of the only revolts that overall was successfull. This was important because it made Haiti Independent from the French.

    This went until June 1815, and its main purpose was to create a balance of power that would preserve the peace of Austria.This was important because many decisions were made such as; Frances land that was conqured by Napolean was taken away, and Austria had lost land returned to them, France and Spain were also restored.

    By the 19th century the people of Mexico were growing tired of sharing their money with Spain. They were also very mad that they were considered inferior by the people of Spain. These were main influences that began Mexican Independence. Miguel Hidalgo, a main leader of Mexico was tricked and killed. After much fighting and death, Mexico had its first independent governmernt was set up on September 28, 1821. This was important becauase Mexico became, and still is, Independent from Spain.

    The first opium war lasted from 1839 to 1842 and was caused by the British. They gave the Chinese people free opium and they quickly became addicted. This was important because it was a major factor in the defeat of China.

    Originaly titled "Manifesto of the Communist Party". This was a book written by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels. It explained the purpose of Marxism and had solutions for class struggle and the disadvantages of capitalism. This book was commisioned by the Communist League. THis was important because it is still considered one of the worlds most influential political document of all time.

    The main reason the United States sent him to japan was for a coal base; where boats get get more coal for their steamboats. Another reason fo Perry to go to Japan was to give shipwrecked sailors good treatment. He came and demanded that ports be opened to Americans and that prisnors be treated fairly or released.

    Sepoy Mutiny
    Sepoys, or Indians trained by the British to be soldiers, were told their new rifle's cartridges were greased with lard and beef fat, this outraged all sepoys because the cow is sacred to Hindus, and the pig is considered repugnant to Muslims. THis caused them to revolt. This was important because it showed how the sepoys were still Indian when they were British soldier slaves.

    Germany was formally unified at the Versailles Palace's Hall of Mirrors in France. Princes gathered to proclaim Wilhelm of Prussia as Emperor Wilhelm of the German Empire. This is important because Germany was made into what it is now.

    Zulu uprising
    Also known as the Bambatha Rebellion, the Zulu uprising was caused by British rule and taxation in Natal, South Africa. The actual revolt was led by Bambatha kaMancinza leader of the Zulu at the time. Bambatha was taken down from chief waged war againsty the government with his supporters but the British eventually killed him in battle. People didnt believe he was dead. This was important because the zulu were being taken over by Britain but there was much resistance.

    Sun Yat-sen was a vedry important man to Chinas history. Also known as the founding father of Republic China. His view was agreed on by a majority of the people in China. He was important because he inspired others to overthrow the Qing Dynasty. He is still considered one of the greatest leaders of modern China to date.
