Queen Elizabeth
In the 1600 the queen Elizabeth started the East India company to develop trade between Great Britain and India.
Some words whitch meant one thing in Indian English meant another thing in British English.
Hobson Jobson was made to explain the meaning of whose words who meant two different things. -
The Triangle Trade
There was alot of slave tradees and one of them was called The Triangle Traade. In Britain they loaded up ships with guns and manufactured goods. After that thay sail for four months to West Africa, and when they were there the manufactured goods were exchanges for African Slaves.
They sail across the atlantic and land in the Caribbean. The slaves was sold to people who owned large plantations.
Last the ships loaded up with tobacco, sugar and cotton. Then they sailed back to England. -
The First Fleet
The first feet arrived in Port Jackson (now called sydney) 1788. It was eleven ships and it held about 780 English people. Most of the people were criminals and alot of them were "transported for life". They were sent from England to Australia and were suposed to live in Australia and they were not allowed to return to England again.
