France lost Alsace Lorraine to Germany on the Franco Prussian war. France never got over that land loss.

Germany is uniffied, thanks to Otto Von Bismarck's planning. (Janurary 1,1871- December 31,1871)

Dual Alliance

Bismarck helped Germany and Austria-Hungary to form a dual alliance.

Russia allies with Prussia

Bismarck made a treaty to have an alliance with Russia.

Triple Alliance

Italy joined the doble alliance made between Germany and Autria-Hungary.

Germany has no longer a treaty with Russia

Germany changed its foreign policy

Kaiser Wilhelm II chenged the foreign policy and also forced Bismarck to resign.

Military alliance between Russia and France

Archeduke Franz Ferdinian and wife are killed

The ARcheduke and his wife traveled to Bosnia and got killed by a Serbian, who would later make his country pay for his done.

Austria send ultimatum to Serbia

Because the killer of the archeduke was Serbian, Austria sent an ultimatum to Serbia demanding several things. Some of the demands of Serbia were acceped by Serbia.

Austria rejects proposal of Serbia

After Austria saw that Serbians were not accepting all the rems on the ultimatum, they declared war against Serbia. after Russia (ans allie of Serbia) joined the war, the Great Powers began to join the battle.
