  • Captain Cook lands in Botany Bay

    Captain Cook was a British Explorer, Cartographer, and Navigator.He is known for being the first European to land on Eastern Coastline of Australia.
  • American Declaration of Independence

    The Declaration of Independance is signed, officially proclaiming the 13 Colonies as an independant nation free of Great Britian. The document began the first of many revolutions of the time period.
  • The Frech Revolution

    Revolution in France that began due to very poor economic conditions caused by the frivility of nobles and the government. The working class grew tired of conditions and the revolt began to sieze power. It was significant because it was the first European revolution that installed a system of government other than a monarchy or dictatorship.
  • Ned Kelly hung

    Ned Kelly was ung on 27 of june after the Kelly gang had attacked Glenrowan.
  • War between US and Great britain begins

    The United States goes to war with Great Britain after the British interfere with American trade and force American sailors to serve in the British navy.
  • Adelaid Established

    The Capital of SA, Adelaid was founded in 1836 on the 28th of December. It was founded by a group of people who located a gumtree which today is located in Glenelg. If this gumtree was not found, SA would not be the state we know today.
  • The Gold Rush

    1851 was the beginning of the Great Australian Gold Rush, Prospector Edward Hammond Hargraves claimed he had discovered "a grain of gold", in a water hole near Bathurst, New South Wales. Hargraves named the town he discovered the gold "Ophir". During the gold rush Australias population almost tripled, the gold rush ended in 1861.
  • The First successful lightbulb

    Thomas edison invented the first successful lightbulb in 1879 on october 29th, it lasted a good 13 and a half hours.

    Statue of Liberty, a gift to the United States from France, is unveiled in New York City harbor

    In 1896 the olympic games were revived in Greece.

    The RMS titanic was a British passenger ship that sank after colliding with an iceberg.
  • World war 1 begins

    WWI began when Britain and Germany went to war in July 1918. With a population of only 5 million, 146809 men enlisted, 60,000 men died and 156,000 men were wounded.
