  • Lucentio's Arrival

    The student named Lucentio comes to Pauda to study. However, he his distracted from his studies when he sees the young Bianca. The scene introduces the character Lucentio and establishes a large part of the story; his love for Bianca.
  • The Fathers Rule

    We discover that Bianca’s Father has forbidden Bianca to marry until her horrible elder sister does. We see Bianca’s other suitors and their unwillingness to consider marring Katherine. The event reveals the conflict of the play, the need to tame the shrew.
  • Petruchio's Endeavour

    An eccentric man arrives in Pauda in search of a wife with a large dowry. He cares not her face or demeanour just that she comes with the means to make him rich. This means he is easily persuaded to marry Katherine. The scene introduces the man, Petruchio and a possible solution to the conflict which builds suspense.
  • The Meeting

    Petruchio meets with Baptista and Katherine and states that he will marry her whether she likes it or not. There is a huge fight between the two but it is decided by the two men that they will wed on the coming Sunday. The event develops the relationship of Katherine and Petruchio and introduces the tension between the two characters.
  • The Wedding

    Petruchio and Katherine are wed and Petruchio makes an effort to humiliate Katherine by showing up late in a ridiculous costume. Through his antics he demonstrates his dominance over his new wife. The scene further develops the relationship of Katherine and Petruchio and can be seen as the climax of the performance as it is the turning point of Katherine’s obedience.
  • Bianca's Heart is Won

    Lucentio succeeds in winning Bianca’s heart and the two lovers elope. This scene shows the resolution for a part of the story. It develops the relationship between Lucentio and Bianca and concludes Lucentio’s trickery.
  • The Taming of the Shrew

    Katherine is finally tamed. The entire family sit down for dinner, new husbands included and we discover that Katherine is now fully obedient top Petruchio and they are both Happy. We then find out that the formerly perfect Bianca has become rather wild and unruly in her own marriage. The scene concludes the performance sending important messages to the audience such as people are not always what they seem and obedience is key in that day and age. With all matters resolved, the performance ends.
