Segregation is the practice of keeping people of different races from engaging with other ethnic groups. African Americans were denied their rights to vote, higher education,and employment opportunities. The important events that occurred to form a movement of change among African Americans: The Thirteenth Amendment of 1865, Freedmen Bureau Act of 1867, Populist People 1892, Niagara Movement of 1905 and NAACP of 1909.
