    In the trojan war Odyssey was famous for creating the Trojan Horse. The Trojan Horse was a gift to the Trojans by the retreating Greeks. The Trojans accepted the gift and celebrated around the horse and when the night was almost over all the Trojans were drunk the Greek soldiers who were hiding in the horse had busted out of the horse and killed the Trojans. Giving Greek the victory in the war.

    Odyssey is a hero because his idea of the Trojan Horse won the war for the Greeks. Odyssey tricked the Trojan people and made them think that the Greeks had retreated.They made a sneak attack on the Trojan people using Odyssey's idea. If it wasn't for the Trojan Horse the war would probably still be going on. The Trojan War lasted for ten years thanks to the Trojan Horse.

    The Cyclops is a giant monster with one eye. The Cyclops was a monster who at humans. He lived in a cave. He used a big rock that only he could move and the rock blocked off the cave. This is important to Odysseus journey because this was a obstacle in his way of getting back home. The Cyclops could have killed him and that would have been the end of Odysseus. This show that you can always get past challenges no matter what they are.

    Odysseus and his men seen a cave and used it to drink and eat and sleep. after a while the cyclops retired and he killed two of the men and fell asleep. the he woke up and killed to more me.Then Odysseus stead up and offered Cyclops a drink. Then Cyclops fell asleep.When he woke up Odysseus and his men got on the bottom of Cyclops giant sheep and was lead out the cave.

    Odyssey and his men landed on the island with the Lotus people. The Lotus people invited Odyssey and his men to eat there magical plant. Those who ate the the magical plant had to be chained down to the ship. Odyssey made and attempt to get the men back home even though they ate the plant. The men who ate the plant lost site of getting back to Ithaca.

    Lotus-Eater was a race of people. Their race was determined my the lotus plants that lived on the island. The lotus fruit and flowers were the main food sources for the island. The food that the plants gave made people sleep in peaceful apathy. The plant made the men never want to leave the island. The plant was so powerful it made you forget who you are and makes your only interest is eating the plant.

    Odysseus crew lands on the island of Aiolia. The island was ruled by Aiolos the god of the winds. Odysseus and his men stayed. When Odysseus and his men left Aiolos gave them a bag of wind. Odysseus stirred up a western wind and that wind would shot the straight home. Odysseus did not tell his men what was in the back. So Odysseus steered the ship for nine days and he fell asleep. The men seen there home on the horizon. They seen the bag and opened it and the winds blow them backwards.

    Odyssey was so upset when his men had ruined the bag of winds. The men had also ruined the nine days that Odyssey has spent steering the ship. Odyssey should have told his men what the bag was for so they didn't make the mistake of opening it. Odyssey was on the verge of killing himself. Instead of doing that he went back and ask for more wind but the god of wind said no. Odyssey had a hard time getting back home but he pushed though it and tried again.

    Circe is a minor goddess and witch living on the island of Aeaea. Circe is a beautiful former princess with flame red hair. She was believed to transform her enemies into animals. She used magical potions to turn them in to the animals she wanted them to be. She did this to control people minds. She also famous for her knowledge of drugs and herbs. Odysseus defeats her powers and gets his men back from her. She is important to Odysseus because she tells him how to get back home.

    Circe turns some of Odysseus men in to pigs. When Odysseus goes to get his men back from the witch Hermes comes to him in the form of a young man. He tells Odysseus to eat an herb called moly to protect himself from Circe drug and then drive at her when she tries to slice him with her sword. He listens to Hermes and makes Circe turn his men back to normal. Circe soon start to love Odysseus and he and his men live with her in lavish for a year.

    The Sirens were dangerous creatures who tempted nearby sailors with their beautiful music and voices to shipwreck on the rocky coast of their island. The Sirens looked like half bird and half women. It was three Sirens. Odyssey and his men had to pass the Sirens island to get home. Odyssey plugged his men ears with beeswax. He was curious to how the Sirens sing so his men tied him tightly to the mast. He told his men to not let him go no matter how much he begged.

    Odyssey had a bad idea of trying to listen to the Sirens sing. Even though he was tied to the mast his men could have let him go by accident. Then they would have to start over there journey to home with out a ship because they would have crashed. Circe had warned them about the Sirens singing so he plugged his mens ears.

    Scylla and Charybdis
    Odysseus chooses Scylla to go to instead of Charybdis. Charybdis heartens to swallow the whole ship and Scylla will only kill six men. So he sails to Scylla and she binds down and eats six of Odysseus men. This is a good choice because he lost some men instead of losing them all. If he lost them all he couldn't get back home because he would of probably end up dying. This would be bad if Odysseus only had six men then everyone would have died ether way.

    Scylla and Charybdis
    The sea monster Charybdis was believed to live under a small rock. Scylla another sea monster that lived inside a much larger rock. They were both evil sea monsters. Odysseus choose Scylla because he thought that Charybdis would sink the whole ship and kill everybody. Scylla is a six headed monster when ships pass she eats one person for each head. This was hard for Odysseus because both monsters were evil and he was going to lose men either way. He just didn't want everyone to die.

    Helios also known as the sun god he is known to have had seven herds of oxen and seven flocks of sheep. His cattles are immortal and handsome. This is the last of the encounters that Odysseus has one the way back home. The men are all killed because Helios ask Zeus to punish them. The men are all killed in a storm but Odysseus is the only one that survived. Odysseus had lost all his loyal men.

    Odyssey wanted to avoid Helios. Odyssey and his men made an oath that they were not going to eat any cattle but they were trapped on the island for months. One day Odysseus fell asleep and Eurylochus convinced the men to eat the Cattle of the Sun. Helios told Zues to punish Odyssey and his men. Zues agreed to it and then strange things started to happen to the cattle. Zeus had punished then with a storm that killed all Odyssey men and Odyssey was still determined to get home.

    Once Odysseus gets home Athene disguises him as a beggar so he can look at the situation he has returned to. Odysseus reveals himself to his son and then heads to the palace. He has to win a contests to get Penelope back because she will marry the person who wins. Everyone losses the contest exact Odysseus disguised as a beggar. Then he kills all the suitors after he wins. Then the angry parents came out looking for revenge so Odysseus hid with his father into they stop looking.

    Odyssey returns to his home. The suitors have took over the palace. He's been gone for twenty years and his wife Penelope and his son Telemachus have dealt with suitors who have took over the palace. Antinous leads the campaign to have Telemachus killed. He is the first to die when Odysseus returns. Odyssey is brave for returning even though he might not get his wife back. He was also determined to get home no matter what had happened. He came back knowing that it would be different.
