The steps to removing recycling from trash.

Starts on the curb where the recycling truck picks it up

After you put it into the recycling bin it gets brought to the center by the recycling truck.

Once there the trucks are weighed on a scale to see how recycling there is

The reason why they weigh the trucks is becuase if there is too much recycling then it might overflow.

Workers sort through things that can not be recycled

The reason they do this is so for further steps the trash that cannot get recycled doesn't affect the system.

The glass filter gets sorted by going into a different direction than the other

The glass separation goes through a hole that the other materials can't go through

There is a wheel to catch the cardboard but some will get through so the workers grb it

The reason they separate the cardboard from the paper is that if you have fragile cardboard it defeats it purpose.

A screen that pumps air pushes the paper over and the containers below

This is a cool step becuase the screen makes it go in two different paths.

The paper is then sent to a pusher that moves it to a barrel

This pushes it to make new stacks of papers and it also filters the types of papers.

The tin cans are pulled away form the other containers with a magnet.

This magnet then drops the cans into a box away from the other containers.

The rest are sorted by a wheel that put the separates the plastic from the other types

This system makes the new types of the same drink containers.

Those are the steps to get all of the different types of recyclable materials filtered
