The French and Indian war ending
The colonist were taking over French’s land so they started a war over the land. They ended the war by signing a treaty saying that they were going to give the colonist a certain amount of land and that France could not take it from them. -
Proclamation line
The British did not want the colonies to settle in the newly acquired land that the French were forced to give. -
The sugar act
The British tried to end the smuggling of sugar and molasses by charging people more for the British sugar and they would only let you have 2lb per month. -
The stamp act
The British government was taxing the colonist on everything that had to be formally stamped. -
Townsend acts
The British would tax things that were being imported to the American colonies. The British were sending troops to enforce the new law which made things worse. -
Townshend act repealed
The Congress repealed the townshend act but didn’t repeal the tea tax because of what happen in the Boston harbor. -
The Boston massacre
The Boston massacre happened on king street. It happen when the colonist started to get hostel with the British army and the British Amy fired on the colonist. The colonist where throwing snow, ice, and pebbles. Someone told the British army to fire but the British officers did not tell them to. -
Committees of correspondence formed
They were formed to inform the people about their rights. During that time they used this to communicate to each of the states to see what is going on. -
The tea act
The British government passed a tax on their teas to help pay for the war. -
The Boston tea party
Some of the colonist dressed up as Indian and boarded a ship that had a shipment of tea on it and through the tea off the ship in to the Boston harbor. -
The Boston harbor shut down
The British parliament shut down the Boston port after the colonist through the tea out into the water. -
The battles of Lexington and Concorde begin
The battles of Lexington and concord was the some of the first battles that started the revolutionary war.
