This is here in order to ensure that there are debates on every election. Some ways that people campaign is through the Internet, different types of ads, through direct mail, and blogs. Fundraising is very costly. In the 2004 election, $1.2 billion was spent in the presidential race

    Step 2: Caucuses and Primaries
    There are six types of primaries. The types of primaries that there are is open primaries, closed primaries, semi-closed primaries, semi-open primaries, blanket, and run-off primaries. Lack of support can force a primary to drop out. Only some states have cauuses rather than primaries, Caucuses encourage a more intense voter participation.

    In National Conventions, delegates attend in order to cast their votes for their candidate. The candidate with the majority of the delegate's votes are nominated for the President for that party. The Vice President candidates are nominated at the National Convention and are chosen by the President

    Everyone eligible should go vote. This is the chance that your political voice would be heard. You do not have to be enrolled on a political party to vote in the presidential election. Just because you are registered in a certain party does not mean you have to vote in that party.

    Each state has their own set of electors. Once the citizen's votes are in, the electors gather at their state capital to cast their votes for Presdient and Vice President. Congress meets to count electoral votes.
