Land of the Cicones

Odysseus and his crew visit the Land of the Cicones and start winning the battle, but Odysseus's men becomes drunk and reckless. This allowed the Cicones to push the men off of the island.

Island of the Lotus Eaters

Jan 31, 1194

Odysseus and his men visit the Island of the Lotus Eaters and the men eat the lotus flowers which makes them forget about home. Odyseus has to tie his men to the ship in order to save his men.

Aeolus

May 31, 1194

Odysseus visits Aeolus who gives him a bag of winds. When Odysseus falls asleep, the men open the bag and sends them all the way back to Aeolus's island. Aeolus refuses to help him a second time.

Polyphemus's Cave

Jun 26, 1194

Odysseus and his men visit Polyphemus, the cyclops.

Circe

Jul 25, 1194

Odysseus lands on the island of the enchantress, Circe. Circe turns Odysseus's men into pigs, and Odysseus has to travel to the Land of the Dead in order to save his men.

Tiresias-Land of the Dead

Jul 26, 1194

Tiresias tells Odyssues of the troubled times ahead. He also tells him that he will be the ONLY man to make it back home to Ithaca.

Charybdis

Aug 29, 1194

Charybdis, the giant whirlpool, sinks the ship and kills the rest of Odysseus's men.

Calypso's Island

Period: Sep 26, 1194 to Jan 26, 1202

Odysseus lands on Calypso's Island, the beautiful sea-nymph. This nymph holds Odysseus captive for SEVEN years! She finally releases him when she gets a letter from the gods commanding her to release him.

Scylla

Sep 27, 1194

Odysseus and his men go to Scylla, the six-headed sea monster that eats several of the men.

Phacia

May 26, 1202

Odysseus lands on the Phacia and tells King Alcinous all that has happnened to him. The King helps him go back home, but Poseidon kills him for helping Odysseus return to Ithaca.

Ithaca

Jul 30, 1202

After TEN years, Odysseus finally returns home.
