After the storm
David Drayton and his family, Steff, and Billy had to go into their basment during a frightful storm that took out their whole front window piece. The morning after, David goes out to start cutting logs when he hears his neighbor Mr. Norton trying to start up his chainsaw with not much progress. -
The clean up
After the storm Mr.Norton offered to help David since his own chainsaw wasnt working. Billy, Davids son, goes to tell his parents about all the carnage that happened after the storm. The boathouse, driveway, front window, and even Mr.Nortons 1964 T-Bird were all destroyed in the storm. -
The drive to the store
After the two cleaned up a bit Billy, David, and Norton took the 4-wheel drive up to the store with Steffs list of supplies. once they get there the go into the store and a man comes in screaming that there was something in the mist that took a man. Everyone goes in a panic towards the window to look outside as the mist takes over the outside of the store. -
The first encounter
After the first sight the mist the power goes out. David goes to back where the generstor is and starts noticing that the exhaust vent was being blocked from the outside and the gas was flowing into the room so David goes to shut it off. Once he does the whole store goes dark and he cant see a thing... but he hears something, like something was scraping across the ground just outside the door. David convinces three workers to go into the back with him to investigate. But they were mistaken. -

The Mist

The night
The night is when the people have it worse. A swarm of small dog sized hornets came into the store and attacked many people and killed one. A manager named Ollie Williams used a small handgun to kill the monsters. After the bugs attacked and left, the people started to set up blockades against the next attack. Most of the people managed to get sleep but others stayed to do watch shifts. -
Norton leaves
The morning after the attack Norton gathers together a small group of 6 that decide to leave the store. Everyone tries to stop them but they finally agree with his demands. David comes up with the idea to tie a string around them to be able to make sure they at least make it 300 yards from the store since the string was 300 yards. one man in the crowd agrees and goes uot but doesnt come back... well doesnt come back in one peice i mean. -
The trip to the Pharmacy and the plan
David and 5 others all decide to go through with going to the pharmacy. When they arrive they find a nest og giant creatures the resembled spiders. they escape but not without losing 3 of their group members. The manager talks to David about creating a plan to escape to his truck the next morning with 6 others. David agrees and they set up a plan to lay away groceries for them to grab before they set off in the morning, this is the end of day two. -
Alliences form
Mrs. Carmody is a very devout kind of person. She believes this mist is all caused by god being angry. She starts talking to people about sacrifice and doing the lords bidding. Most people find her to be crazy but they slowly start joining her. David on the other hand is starting a group of people that are still sane. Himself, Ollie, his son, Amanda, and a few others were planning on getting medicine at the pharmacy next to them after someone broke their leg during the night escapade. -
The army of believers
David and his group go to the groceries in the mornig only to find Mrs. Carmody and her group behind her. She describes how they need a human sacrafice and to take Davids son Billy as a sacrafice. her group advances but backs away as a gunshot is heard and everyone sees Mrs. Carmodys' body lying on the floor. Ollie shot her. -
The escape
After Ollie shot her they all grab their things and run for the car. emedietly all creatures attack them. they make it to the 4WD but Ollie is taken by a creature that is 4 stories high. the gun lands on the ground and David gambles to grab it. He succeeds just before a giant spider grabs him. the 5 of them slowly drive past the store where everyone inside is watching in awe. -
The drive
After they make it out Davids plan is to drive away from the mist as far as possible. They have to drive at 5 miles per hour because of the massive thickness of the mist. on the drive they all of a sudden feel something similar to an earthquake . Then out of the woods comes an enourmous creature who towered over them at about 40 stories high with nests of the large wasps attached to its body. its footprints were described as deep enough for the 4WD to fall into. -
The visit to the house
After the beast passes they drive up to Davids house where they last saw Steff.as they drove up the long driveway they started seeing the webs of the giant spiders. David, without caution, stepped out of the SUV and saw a body hanging on the top of the porch. David goes back into the SUV realizing that Billy is all hes got. they leave and start heading north again. -
The end
The ending to the movie and the book are totally different. this is how you can tell who actually read it and who just watched the film. In the movie David shoots everyone but himself and a minute later the Army comes and rescues him. In the book they all survive but the mist is still going on. they are all in a house at night and the book ends as if David was righting in a Journal.
