Hawaii is a collection of eight large islands and an often overlooked smaller ninth island. These islands have been apart of the United State's territory since 1898. It finally became America's 50th state when 93 percent of voters approved the proposition that the Hawian Islands should be accepted as a state. -
Berlin Wall Propaganda Video
East Germany, the side of Germany run by communists, built the Berlin Wall in hopes of keeping the citizens of East Germany from moving to West Germany. East Germany had lost more than 20 percent of it's population before building the wall which highly influenced the government to build it. The wall then became a symbol of the "Iron Curtain" which seperated the democrats from the communists. -

President Lyndon's Speech About the Act
The Civil Rights Act of 1964 was a bill originally sent to Congress by President Kennedy, but because he was assassinated President Johnson was the one to sign the bill. This act prohibited segregation in employment, public places such as hotels, and voting. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission was also established with the bill being passed which hindered discrimination in employment between the races, people of different relgions, and between the sexes. -
Biography of Malcolm X's Life
Malcolm X was a relgious leader, Amercian activist, and human rights activist. He was assassinated in New York City by rival Black Muslims when he was speaking to his Organization of Afro-American Unity at the Audubon Ballroom in Washington Heights. These rival Black Muslims were members of the Nation of Islam that killed him because of an ongoing fued between Malcolm and the Nation of Islam that started when he left the Nation of Islam. -
Super Bowl I Article and Video
The Green Bay Packers of the National Football League face the the Kansas City Chiefs of the American Football League in what would later be known as the first Superbowl ever. This game was originally call the AFL vs. NFL World Championship, but was later seen as the first Super Bowl. The Packers would proceed to dominate against the Chiefs with the ending score being 35 to 10. -
Martin Luther King Jr. Assassination Article and Video
Martin Luther King Jr. was the civil rights leader, the founder of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, and a Baptist minister. He was shot and killed while standing on the second floor balcany of the Lorraine Motel. James Earl Ray pleaded guilty when put on trial for King's murder and was convicted. Martin's birthday later became a national holiday in America. -
Walt Disney World Grand Opening Video
10,000 people showed up in Orlando, Flordia to be able to witness the opening of Walt Disney World after seven whole years of planning. The Magic Kingdom, the only disney park opened at that time, covered approximately 107 acres of land. This land contained Adventureland, Fantasyland, Frontierland, Liberty Square, Tomorrowland, a Main Street USA, and about 5,500 Cast Members. -
Kathryn attended her first day of high school at Greendale High School.

Kathryn worked at Southridge Mall as a waitres for the restaurant the Copper Penny for about six months or less until she was fired.

Star Wars the Original Trailer
Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope was originally released as Star Wars and was technically known as the first movie in a giant movie franchise. These films were written and directed by George Lucas and had some of the best special effects seen at that time. The movie revolves around Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker as they fight with the Rebel Alliance against the Empire. -
Kathyrn quit her job and moved to California. She drove cross country with friend. She only stayed in a hotel once and instead camped the rest of the time when driving. Kathryn lived in California for four months until her mother flew out to drive back home with her. They arrived home November 23, 1977.

Kathryn got hired by Delco Electronics and worked there for 12 years in the avionics division. She recieved this job because her sister's boyfriend at that time was the person in charge of hiring the staff at Delco. She left because she was offered a year's worth of wages to leave or in other words she was given the option of having a voluntary termination. She took it so she could stay home and raise her third kid as a stay at home mom.

Challenger Exploding Video
73 seconds after the Challenger lifted off it expoded, ending what would have been the Challenger's tenth mission. The explosion killed seven people including a teacher from New Hampshire who was going to teach kids while being in space. It was determined later on that two rubber O-rings had failed during liftoff because of the cold temperatures. -
Kathryn, Joe and their kids moved for a second time and buy their second house.

Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty Wikipedia
The Intermediate-range Nuclear Forces Treaty was signed so that the United States and the Soviet Union would eliminate and agree to give up their nuclear and conventional ground-launched ballistic and cruise missiles with ranges of 500 to 5,500 kilometers. Both parties were given a deadline in which they had to have all said missiles destroyed by. This meant that neither of the parties would be able to use such weapons against each other which was a big deal with the Cold War going on. -
Kathryn and Joe had thier third and final kid Joseph Adam Gacek.

Kathryn, Joe, and their kids moved to their house in Crivitz where Kathryn and Joe still live to this day. They never moved back into an apartment after their marriage because my grandpa always wanted to own land.
