Gandhi went to South Africa being unsuccessful in Bombay. He joined the Supreme Court as the first “colored” lawyer and built a large practice.

Gandhi founded the Natal Indian Congress in hopes of being able to get more Indian rights. He was still loyal to the British rule at this time however.

India finally won its independence and split into two countries. Riots broke out but Gandhi fasted and got the rioters to stop.

Gandhi was assassinated by a Hindu on his way to prayer. He was remembered throughout history even far after death because of his actions.
