  • Upper Silesia

    The treaty of versailles had given the people of upper Silesia the right to have a referendum on whether they wanted to be part of Weimar Germany or part of Poland.
    In this referendum 700,000 people voted for Germany and 500,000 people for Poland, The league was asked to settle this dispute
  • The French and Blegian invasion of Ruhr

    In 1923, contrary to the Lwagues rules, the French and the Belgium's invaded Ruhr - Germany's most important industrial zone. Here were two League members clearly breaking League rules and nothing was done about it.
  • Greek Invasion of Bulgaria

    In 1925 the League helped to reslove a dispute between Greece and Bulgaria. Both of these nations had a common borded. in 1925 sentries patrolling this borded fired on one another and a greek soldier was killed. The Greek army invaded Bulgaria as a result.
  • Manchuria

    This was the explosion on the Manchuria railway that ran through China. The Japanese depended on this railway to transport goods into their country, who's natural resources and agriculture were limited by their mountainous terrain.
  • Abyssinia

    Italy wanted revenge after an embarassing failed attempt to take Abyssina in 1896.
