Canals
people wanted to be able to travle and trade, but it took time to travle from inland to the coast to put goods onto a ship. So someone had an idea to dig out Canals to make it easyer to for ships to get inland, also to make it easyer to trade. It all started in eygipt to improve productions in farming this was done around 500 bc -

Locks and dams (river and canal locks)
The very first dam was build in egypt around 2700bc. but where used a lot in the industrial revolution, it meant farms could thrive and you could get supplys into the citys and towns that where more inland. The very first locks was buils in the song dynasty in china. -

The cart was invented inbetween 3000 - 1500bc. If they were smaller carts they would of been hand draw, but if they were larger bigger animals would draw they E.g horses oxs and mules. -

The first wheel made was made around 3000 - 1500bc. The first wheels ever made were used for carts carrages and toys. After the wheel was made it was easier to move things as well as trade with more people. -

The musket was one of the first guns ever made it had a bullet that was deadly if it hit its target but it took a while to reload. the first ever musket evr made was made in 16th centery. -
The civil wars
The civil war brougt the end to the absolute monarchy. there was three civil wars that went from 1642-1688. Because of this things happened like, in 1888 It gave privileges to protestants out side of the english church. and extanded the rights of the common people. -
Great London Fire
In 1666 The Great lonon fire started in a bakers shop it quickly spread to nearby buildings and keeped going. when it stoped it burned 13,200 houses and 87 parish churchs. it went for three whole days and left 70,000 of the 80,000 inhabitants homeless. Because of this fire stations was improved as well as pumps and pipes. -
Growing Population
englands population was going steadily at 6 million people around 1700-1740 But then its started to climb striaght after that it quickly rose from 8.3 million people doubled to 16.8 in around 1850. by the time of 1901 the population grow to a massive 30.5 million people. The reason for all this was the improvments of health and safety. -
Citys
Because of the rising population villages went to towns, towns went to citys, and citys went to major citys.
this meant that trading was better communacation between citys and other countrys. The first major city build was london -
steam engine
When the steam engine was invented the world started to change dramaticly it could power machines and automobiles.
it made better production and created more things to trade with.
