Slobodan Milošević was elected president over the Serbian Party. He wanted to do an 'ethnic cleanse' over Kosovo and he wanted to take the Serbian Orthodox Church because he was mad that it was on Kosovo's land

Serbian troops were sent over to replace the Albanian troops because the Serbians didn't like that their sacred church was on Kosovo land, so they wanted to take it back for them

In an attempt to regain their church and land, the Serbs drive out all ethnic Albanians by setting houses on fire, robbing people, and forcing then to get on trains that would take them out of the country. This led to a lot of the refugees to immigrate to America

When the Serbs didn't sign the treaty, NATO and the KLA teamed up. KLA attacked the Serbs from the ground while NATO bombed their bases from the air.

Even though they agreed to stop attacking the Albanians, the Serbs would not leave their church or the land. The UN has to step in and declare that all the Serbian troops must leave
 -

After the Serbs left, they declared that the KLA were a terrorist group and were to convicted of their crimes, and put major leaders of the KLA on trial. Some were convicted of crimes, and some were proven innocent
 -

The UN decided that it would be best if the KLA disbanded because there was no need for them. The Serbian Police and Soldiers had left their land and they were not fighting anyone. The KLA agreed and disbanded that summer
