The Sun Flares
Thirteen years before Thomas and the other Gladers escaped the Maze, the Earth was struck by the sun's solar flares.In New York, Mark and Trina were rescued from street thugs by veterans Alec, Lana, ans other people they became friends with. Mark and Trina joined them and went to the Lincoln Building so they could escape a monsterous tsunami that they ran into along the way. -
The Lincoln Building
When they got to the Lincoln Building they stayed there until a boat of two people with guns arrived. The man took them as hostages, killed the youngest one of the group, Baxter, and told them to give them what they wanted. Alec took the man down, stole the boat, and left to go to the Applachian Mountians. -
The Bergs and Virus (continued)
The Berg was crashed and Mark, Alec, Trina, and Lana left the village and their sick friends to search for a safe haven. -
The Bergs and Virus
One year later in the Appalachian Mountains, the village that the group settled in was attacked by airships known as Bergs. The people in the Bergs were shooting darts that affected the villlagers themselves. Mark and Alec were lucky to not get hit by the darts and stole one of the Bergs. In the Berg they found a workpad and learned that the darts contained a virus that affects peoples' brains and drive them insane. -
The Abandoned Girl
As they journey through the mountains they find a deserted village that had an abandond girl named Deedee, who was shot by a dart when the Bergs attcked her village. Mark and Alec went to find Deedee's people and later found them. They left her because they believed that she was immune to the darts' virus and that she was a demon. After that there was a forest fire and Mark and Alec went back to where they left Trina, Lana, and Deedee. They saw that they weren't there so they went to find them. -
Post-Flares Coalition
They reach the base of the PFC (Post-Flares Coalition) and sneak in to get information. As they eavesdrop,they learn that the virus is called the Flare, realize that the people have taken their friends, and get caught. Alec steals another Berg as they escape and Mark realizes that the Flare has already taken over his brain. Later in the Berg, they find a gun called a Transvice,used to dissolve people into thin air. They use it against anyone infected. -
Infected in Asheville
They fly the Berg to Asheville, which is filled with infected and insane people. They find Lana who was being tortured by the people, Alec ended her suffering by using the Transvice on her. Trina and Deedee were found in one of the houses, but the Flare made Trina forget about Mark. Soon they get attacked by the infected people but escape them and leave in the Berg. -
The Flat Transportator
Alec was revealed to have the Flare just like Trina and Mark and they learn that Deedee really was immune to it.They agreed to to take Deedee to Alaska ,where the headquarters of PFC holds a Flat Trans(Transportator). In the end, Deedee gets taken to the Flat Trans, Mark, Trina, and Alec chose not to live through the Flares's madness, so they crash the Berg into the PFC building with them inside. -
Thomas and Teresa
Two years later, Wicked takes an immune boy from his mother and names him Thomas and Deedee's name is changed to Teresa. -
