Martin Frobisher was the first to set sail to North America. He started traveling in 1550, and explored Africa's Northwest coast. He was given a reputation from preying on French trading, he was sadly also arrested several times due to piracy charges. He was one of the first people to make contact with the Inuit. He sadly died at sea in 1594.

VItas Bering makes contact with the Inuit people. Vitas Bering was born in Horsens, Denmark in 1681. He explored Bering Strait and Alaska. Sadly he died on December 19, 1741, the very day he made contact with the Inuit.
