    WW1 began in 1914 and ended in 1918. It was said to be the war that ended all wars. On the 11th of November 1918, Germany surrendered and signed a treaty with the Allied Nations, which formally ended the war.

    the Influenza Pandemic (also known as the spanish flu) was the most severe pandemic of its time. It was caused by a H1N1 virus. It spread worldwide from 1918-1919. It killed a total of 12,000 Australians and over 50 Million worldwide.

    The Assembly of the League of Nations meets for the first time in Geneva, Switzerland. The US is notably absent, the Senate having voted against joining the League in November 1919.

    The Treaty was a punishment for Germany, and also a sign of peace. It was signed on the 11th of November 1918, but only went into play on the 10th of January 1920. It also stated that Germany needed to pay a total of $55 US Billion dollars to cover the damage of the war.

In this period there was a large development with technology, mechanics, and transportation. Most nations saw large economical and industrial growth.

    Forrest River Massacre occurred in June 1926. It was a mass killing of Aboriginal Australians by law enforcement's and civilians. 11 people were killed there. When police came to the scene it was said that the bodies were found burning in flames.

    The Great Depression was one of the worst economic downturns and fails in history. It lasted from 1929 to 1939. It began after a stock crash occurred in October 1929. Majority of people who had average jobs lost them, and only the wealthier people were able to maintain a stable life. Most people ended up homeless or in a lot of debt. A lot of crime began to occur due to the fact that not many people had money to support their families.

    Marco Polo Bridge Incident in China initiates invasions of mainland China. It was a conflict between both Japanese and Chinese troops near the Marco Polo Bridge. Battle of Shanghai then begins from mid August-November followed by the occupation of Beijing and the then capital city, Nanjing.
