  • Declaration of Independence

    The Declaration of Independence was important because it was the beginning of America. The first 13 states had formed but at the time they were called colonies.
  • The Constitution was writtten.

    This event is important because this bwas the first written government that was organized and outlined who has the power over the nation; Federal governent or State Government. The Constitution was written because the articles of confederation had many holes and didnt give any form of government power. People were doing whatever they wanted, followed rules or did not follow rules.
  • George Washington is President

    This event is important because George Washington was America's first president and he basically set up the government we have today. He set up the Cabinet. People were scared because he was the nations first president and they didnt know what he would do with his power.
  • The Louisana Purchase

    This event was important because it expanded the United states from the east coast to the west coast. Jefferson made the purchase from France for America. He sent Lewis and Clark on an expedition to learn about the new land America had just gained.
  • War of 1812

    The War of 1812 was important because Aerica won and finally were really free of Great Britain and the king.
  • Abolition of Slavery

    This event is important because it formed the idea that all men and women are made equal. No one is inferior or superior to another person. So because this amendment was passed slaves were set free.

    This event was important because even though the economy was down because busineses were not doing as well. New and different forms of expression were on the rise. Blues music became popular and so did radio use.
  • Martin Luther King Jr."I Have A Dream" Speech.

    This speech was important because it was during the Civil War. Dr.King Jr. addressed the nation and let the nation know that African- Americans were tired of being pushed around and that it was time African-Americans were treated equal. He let the government know that something needed to be done A.S.A.P for African-Americans, because of the way they were treated back then.

    This event is important because even though alot of people died and America's security was threatened. This event brought the nation closer together as one. This event spread love into the nation.
  • President Barack Obama

    This event was historical because he was the first African- American president of the U.S. His election into office let every African-American child that they can do whatever they wanted to. It let them know they can do whatever they set their mind to. His election into office opened their mind to the fact that there are no limits to what they can do ina nd with their life.
