    In 1955, Clive Campbell was born in Kingston Jamaica. He is also know as the stage name "DJ Kool herc" and later became know as the "founder father oh Hip-Hop". Hip-Hop formed during the 1970's when block parties became increasingly popular in New York City. Hip-Hop was largely introduced into New York by immigrants from Jamaica and elsewhere in the Caribbean,including DJ Kool Herc.
