The U.S. Army herded all of the friendly tribes on to Reservations. while they opened fire on the other tribes. the Army was ordered to hang all warriors, and capture all women and children. they destroy villages and kill all of their horses.

When Colonel Custer and his men made it to the Little Bighorn River, the Sioux were waiting for them. led by Crazy horse and Sitting Bull, the Sioux out flanked Custer's men and crushed his troops. By the end of the year the Sioux were beaten and Sitting Bull fled to Canada.

The US government passed this act to try and Americanize the Native American. It gave the tribes 160 acres to each family and 80 acres to every unmarried person.

Custer's men rounded up over 350 starving Sioux and took them to the camp called wounded knee. a shot was fired but nobody know witch side did it. the army opened fire with a cannon. The 7th Calvary slaughters over 300 Indians.
