The Glorious Revolution. The Glourious Revolution helped to cause the Enlightment beacuse of selfishness, seperation of government and church

    In the Glourious revolution, They were becoming controlled by a all powerful catholic monarchy. Like Voltaire they do not want the government and church to be connected. They want seperate powers. They want to be able to believe in the relgion they believe in and not be forced to be ruled by one relgion. (BBC)

    The king suspened the Test acts therfore allowing him to add a few catholic peers to his "Privy Council". Like voltaire it is unfair that he picked people to be in his council because they were catholic. (BBC)

    James tried to secure his relgious beleifs with his powers. Which was evil to make people "study" catholicism and it was selfish to secure his belifs with the use of his power. Like Thomas Hobbs says people are one evil and two selfish. (BBC)
  • Parliment- Seperation in Power

    In the Glourious Revolution the English Parliment wants more power than the crown. like Montesque, parliment wanted a saperation of power in the government. They do not want to be controlled by one ruler. (BBC)

    Parliment gained power over taxs, over the royal cycle, over appointments, over the crown to be able to wage war independetly. Like Rousseau they in a way formed there own government because they took control over those things. (BBC)
