The future of the IB

  • Mission statement is written

The International Baccalaureate® aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
  • IB becomes available in Chinese

IB is now available in 4 languages - French, English, Spanish and Chinese.
  • IB introduces the Career Program in 2012

The career program addresses the needs of some students for a career related approach to learning.
  • IB becomes available in many more languages

To help the IB fulfill their mission statement, they make the the programs available in many more languages.
  • Apprenticeships become an optional part of the IB Careers Program 2025

Students currently learn about working in their chosen field however actually working as part of the course will give students a real opportunity to discover the job in its entirety - the good, the bad and the ugly. This is becoming increasingly important.
  • IB outreach mission starts

Given the IB mission statement to develop young people to create a better future and work together as guardians of the planet, many more people should be given access to the course in the form of some kind of charitable or outreach project. It would seem vital that this great course is made available to more of the most under underprivileged children despite their low economic status and poor access to education.
