Jimme lee Jackson was a 26 army veteran who would soon be murdered by the police. It was a brutal murder and was covered up because of hatred and racism. The police would invade his house and take him to a local county infirmary , He would soon be discovered and found . -
In Selma Alabama , John Lewis and others would attempt to march towards Montgomery. The sheriff and troops would stop them and tell them to turn around . They would stop by beating them with their batons . By them doing that , they would injure john Lewis and he would walk away with a head injury . They had to regroup and try again . It would be known as Bloody Sunday -
After the injunction had be passed , allowing them to march to Montgomery, Alabama. Everyone came together for this movement , teachers , activists , and even rabbis. They all walked 50 miles , they all came to the podium and spoke out and gave a phenomenal and moving speech . They talked about the pain and suffering . The expressed about the freedom they inspire to have . It was a great day in history for black African Americans . -
The voting rights act was finally signed into law . it was a huge celebration for the African Americans. It was a major accomplishment in history for black men. -
