    Proclamation of Neutrality
    George Washington passed the Proclamation of Neutrality, that states that America will stay out of other countries wars. At the time France and England were at war with each other. Both sides were asking us to help them but the Proclamation of Neutrality didn't allow us to. After England and France were done fighting England wanted revenge on America for us not helping them in the war. The English provoked the Natives to attack America which started the war of 1812.

  • Alien and Sedition Acts

    Alien and Sedition Acts
    President John Adams passed the Alien and Sedition Act which states that any citizen form enemy countries can be deported and a citizen from friendly countries but if considered dangerous can be deported. Because of this voting became unfair for states with lots of aliens which made the population go down and the number of votes.

  • War with Tripoli

    War with Tripoli
    President Thomas Jefferson was trading with Tripoli ( Africa ) but American ships were being attacked by pirates. Soon to realize Tripoli's government was sending pirates to take the goods. America was not fine with this and the war of Tripoli was started. In the end Jefferson increased the size of America's navy.

    The Louisiana Purchase
    In the new world just west of the Mississippi River was tons of land owned by the Spanish. The Spanish decided to sell the land to America which was huge for America. America took this offer right away. This deal doubled the size of America, Thomas Jefferson sent two men to explore this new land Lewis and Clark. In the end the land size of America doubled.

    The war of 1812
    During the presidency of James Madison Great Britain and France were at war with each other. We had just passed the Proclamation of Neutrality and america was staying neutral. Both France and Britain wanted us on their side but we did not choose a side and stayed neutral. Once Britain and France were done fighting Britain wanted revenge on america for not helping them. The British influenced the native Americans to rebel against America which caused the war of 1812.

    Monroe Doctrine
    President James Monroe passed the Monroe document which told the European powers that if any attempt was made by them to take North America ( not including Mexico ) and South America the consequence's would be great ( war ).

  • Tariff of Abominations

    Tariff of Abominations
    During the presidency of John Quincy Adams a tariff was made with England. These taxes made manufactured goods more expensive which was not good for the south for they had few factories this act was made to protect the Northern factories from competition. Because of this the Southern factories had to pay more for manufactured goods and lost money on raw materials and because of this foreign countries bought fewer ram materials from Southern factories.

  • Trail of Tears

    Trail of Tears
    The citizens of Alabama, Georgia, MIssissippi were violating federal treaties with the natives which this was causing problems. President Andrew Jackson had all the natives moved to what is now Idaho and part of North Dakota. During this movement over 4,000 natives died.
