    The first vacuum cleaner ever made was invented before the 20th century, but they only started to become extremely popular during the mid-1920s. They became very popular at the time because they were starting to get more efficient and easier to use. In 1926, a vacuum company called "Hoover" added upgrades to vacuum cleaners like increasing the efficiency of dirt removal. This also became a lot easier for women AND children to use, since at the time women focused more on home responsiblities.

    The polygraph machine (also known as a lie detecter test) was invented in 1921 in Berkeley, California. It is usually used to criminal investigations and are still used today by cops and other people. There is no evidence of effectiveness though.

    In June 1930, Paul and Joseph Galvin created the first successful car radio and named it the “Motorola.” It became popular during the 1950s as the technology developed and became easier to use.

    The first electronic computer was invented by Presper Eckert, Jr., John William Mauchly, and their associates at the Moore School of Electrical Engineering of the University of Pennsylvania, and they called the computer the ENIAC. And in 1958, the first computer game was invented. It's crazy how different computers are today and technology is progressing quickly. Nowadays, computers are very easy to use and easy to store things on.

    Television became very popular during the 1950s after the home television set released, which is also described as the "Golden Age" of television. By 1955, half of the households in the US had TV's and they were usually very expensive. 10 years later, 90% of households had TV's and some even came in colour.

    The LED light was first invented in 1962 by Nick Holonyak, Jr. while he was working at General Electric. The first LED light produced visible red light and became popular in homes during the mid2000s. Today, many teenagers have LED lights along their bedroom walls and ceilings, and they are well liked.

    Arcade machines were first invented in the early 70s but gained popularity in the late 70s. It became popular with children and teenagers, and many people would spend their free time hanging out in arcades playing games. Today there are still arcades, but since we have countless video game consoles and videogames with better graphics, they're not used that much,

    The Atari is a videogame console by Nintendo that was made September 1977 and is a cartridge-based system that allows you to play a variety of different games. It marked a new era in home gaming systems and was most popular during the 70s and 80s. Although it may not be as popular today, many households still use them today :)
  • Graphic Tablet

    Graphic Tablet
    A graphic tablet (AKA a drawing tablet, graphics pad, etc) is a computer device that allows you to hand draw on it with a stylus, just like you do with a pencil and paper. It was created by musician Todd Rundgren and was licensed to Apple. I was interested in researching the Graphic Tablet because I like drawing on my iPad with a stylus and I think it's super fun.

    The gameboy is a portable video game console created by our beloved Nintendo. It became popular very fast, and a few of its first games were Super Mario Land, Alleyway, and Baseball. Its most popular game was Tetris and some of its games today have been transported to other devices like mobile, computer and the NES.

    Bluetooth
    Bluetooth is a wireless technology that allows computers, speakers and more, to exchange data with mobile devices over short distances. It was invented in 1998 but it wasn't widely known until 2004. In this decade, Bluetooth is used by millions of people - many popular uses are Airpods, Speakers, Car Bluetooth and Bluetooth stereos. It's quite useful since wires can be annoying, and you can connect it to speakers as well.

    Believe it or not, virtual reality was actually invented in 1968 by Ivan Sutherland and his student Bob Sproull. It was very large and too heavy for anyone to wear, and it was connected to a computer. Since then, virtual reality has been growing and mainly became popular during the mid-2010s. VR was also seen in museums in the 1990s. Today, many companies create VR headsets like the Playstation, and there are countless games you can play on them as well.

    Disney+ became extremely popular right at the the time it was released. It owns a lot of brands such as Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, Marvel, National Geographic and Star. Also, 10 million people signed up for the subscription just on the first day of it being released which is crazy!
