    King Henry the VIII took the throne in 1509. Henry the VIII was born in London, England in 1491. He was the Second sone of King Henry the VII. He was also the first in the Tudor line. He took the throne because his brother Aurther died. He broke off of the Catholic church because the pope would not let him divorce with his wife.

    Married King Henry the VIII at June 11th, 1509. At first Catherine married Henry's older brother but he died one year later so she married Henry the VIII. But Henry wanted a divorce with Catherine because she would not bare a male child. And that is why King Henry the VIII broke off the Catholic Church, to get a divorce.
    Catherine did have a son but he only lived for 52 days.
    They were not officialy divorced until May 23, 1533 and King Henry was married to Ann Boylen before that.

Ann had a falcon on her badge. Ann had suffered from Sweating sickness before Elizabeth was born, and if she had died Queen Elizabeth would not be alive. She could speak french and English. Ann did not bare any male children so King Henry beheaded her to avoid the divorce process.
